StandUp For Kids – Boston is an all volunteer, non-profit
organization that serves homeless and street involved youth
in the Greater Boston area who are between the ages if 12
and 24.
For more than 10 years, through Street Outreach, StandUp
For Kids has been providing young people living alone on
the streets survival supplies such as food, clothing, and
sleeping bags while working to establish relationships
through which our volunteer counselors can help kids to
access a wide array of resources. StandUp For Kids sees
more than 500 young people per year and distributes over
1,000 meals per year.
Through an innovative transitional housing program
launched this fall, StandUp For Kids now offers homeless
young adults the opportunity to live within a safe,
structured, community-based environment while working
with mentors to achieve personal, educational, and
employment goals to enable them to become contributing
members of society. StandUp For Kids also works with local
schools to reduce the odds that at-risk kids will end up on
the streets.
